Primary Areas of Expertise
Anxiety Disorders – Anxiety, fear, and worry that becomes excessive can be paralyzing, and prevent you from living your best life. Anxiety can start off feeling like stress from life, but if you start to notice that you are worrying a lot about any one thing or worrying about lots of different things, you would likely benefit from therapy. Treatment for anxiety may include exploring underlying sources of your anxiety, learning relaxation and regulation skills, and shifting beliefs that keep your stuck.
Relationship Challenges – Relationship challenges can show up in any relationship, and can leave you feeling isolated, lonely, and disconnected. Treatment for relationship issues can be addressed through individual, family, or couples counseling. Treatment will be targeted at creating more security and connection in your relationships, and may include understanding the patterns in your relationship conflict, learning how to express feelings and needs with others, and learning how to validate one another so you both feel heard and understood.
Life Transitions – Life changes can create stress, impacting emotional well-being and resulting in symptoms such as sadness, fear, loneliness, and various physical ailments. Examples of life transitions include birth of a baby, moving, marriage, transitioning to college, blending families, and more. And yes, even positive life changes that you planned for, can create stress. Treatment for these life transitions will be focused on helping you cope more effectively with these changes, as well as adapt to these changes.

What to expect from your telehealth sessions.
Telehealth therapy closely resembles in-person therapy, with the added convenience of not needing to travel to an appointment. Telehealth sessions are available via phone or Zoom appointments. Here are some important aspects of telehealth:
Confidentiality
I utilize HIPAA-compliant applications that ensure the necessary security and privacy for our discussions.
Flexibility
One of the greatest advantages of telehealth is its accessibility. Being able to speak from the comfort of your own home makes it simpler to carve out time for yourself, eliminating the stress of commuting to an office. Additionally, you can have your sessions in any confidential space in the state of Minnesota, including your work office, your parked car, etc.
Results
Research indicates that telehealth therapy is as effective as traditional face-to-face visits. You can be confident that you’ll receive the same evidence-based clinical expertise to assist you on your emotional wellness journey.
Insurance and billing.
It is your responsibility to understand how your insurance will cover services. Before starting therapy, you should check the following with your insurance company:
- Whether your provider is in-network or out-of-network for your insurance plan;
- Whether benefits cover the type of therapy you will receive (insurance refers to services as either individual psychotherapy or family psychotherapy);
- Whether your benefits cover telehealth session
- And understand your financial responsibility for any portion of services.
